Bridging the gap between clinical care and IT infrastructure. We design HIPAA-compliant technology stacks that improve patient outcomes and streamline practice operations.
If you're the practice manager or owner responsible for keeping the EHR up, the phones answered, and PHI secure — often all at once — this page covers how we approach that, and what to expect from working with us.
Synergy works with small-to-mid-size medical practices to align their technology stack with clinical and administrative workflows.
This includes guidance around electronic health record (EHR) and practice management system selection, connectivity planning, phone system design, and supporting infrastructure.
The goal is to ensure that clinical technology, communication systems, and network reliability function together without creating operational bottlenecks or unnecessary complexity.
EHR/EMR optimization usually means the network and server resources behind your record system are sized correctly, so charting doesn't lag during your busiest hours. Patient engagement solutions cover the portals, reminders, and check-in tools patients expect today. Telehealth and remote monitoring setup is the connectivity and security behind virtual visits — covered in more depth on our telehealth infrastructure page. And waiting room Wi-Fi and digital signage are the small details that shape how a patient experiences your front office.
Protect patient data with confidence. Our network and security designs are built with HIPAA compliance at the core, ensuring PHI is secure in transit and at rest.
These aren't separate add-ons — they're built into how we design the network in the first place. Segmenting the network so PHI-handling systems are isolated from guest Wi-Fi, encrypting messages between staff and patients, and making sure backups actually restore (not just run) are the kind of details that don't show up until they're tested. Our HIPAA compliance page covers the security side of this in more depth.
We work with the practice sizes and specialties that don't have an in-house IT department but can't afford downtime either — private practices, urgent care centers, dental offices, physical therapy clinics, and multi-specialty groups across our Rome and Northwest Georgia service area.
It's a good fit if patient scheduling, billing, and your EHR all depend on the same network connection, if you're opening a new location and need the technology stack planned from day one, or if a recent security question from a vendor, auditor, or cyber-insurance renewal left you unsure what your current setup actually covers.
The process starts with understanding your practice, not selling a product.
We review your EHR, network, phone system, and any existing vendor agreements to see how PHI moves through your practice today.
As a vendor-neutral advisor, we compare EHR, connectivity, and communications options across the market rather than one preferred vendor.
You get a plain-language plan for what to change, what to keep, and why — with HIPAA considerations built in, not bolted on afterward.
We coordinate the rollout with your vendors and stay on for ongoing support, so clinical staff aren't the ones troubleshooting IT.
EHR vendors, telehealth platforms, and phone systems all have sales teams whose job is to sell you their platform. As a technology brokerage, we're compensated by the vendor you choose, not tied to a single EHR or communications brand — so our recommendation is based on how well a system fits your workflow and your PHI-handling obligations, not on which reseller agreement we hold. Any vendor we recommend that may handle PHI signs a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) as part of that relationship. See our HIPAA compliance page for how we approach the security side of that in more depth.
Do you work with small practices, or only large groups? Both. Most of the practices we work with are small-to-mid-size — a single location or a handful of providers — without a full-time IT staff. Multi-specialty and multi-location groups are a fit too; the assessment just covers more locations.
Can you support our existing EHR, or do we have to switch? In almost every case you keep your EHR. Our job is to make sure the network, connectivity, and security around it are solid.
Do you sign a BAA? Yes. Where we or a vendor we recommend may handle protected health information, a Business Associate Agreement is part of the engagement.
How is "HIPAA-compliant technology" different from HIPAA compliance itself? HIPAA compliance covers your practice's full set of policies, training, and administrative safeguards. "HIPAA-compliant technology" describes the category of network, communications, and EHR-adjacent systems we help you select and configure to support that compliance — it's the technical piece, not a certification we hold on your behalf.
Do you support telehealth and remote patient monitoring? Yes — see our telehealth infrastructure page for the bandwidth, security, and reliability considerations behind dependable virtual visits.
We serve a wide range of medical specialties and facility types.
